CITY ATLASAbout

What it is

Every map cell is 125 metres wide, and every dataset is measured on that same grid. Values can also be summed up to villages and townships.

You can browse 6 themed chapters: Walking network, Public transport, Public facilities, Neighbourhood environment, City vision, and Urban resilience. There is also a free canvas, for desktop browsers, where you combine datasets into your own analysis.

Use it in Claude

City Atlas is also available as a Claude connector. Once it is added, Claude can search the catalogue, look up a place, rank areas and compare metrics on the same data. Each answer carries its sources and caveats.

Data and method

Every layer card names its source. Estimates are labelled as estimates. A place with no data is shown as “not collected”, never as zero.

Sources include Taiwan's central and local government open data, OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL) and Overture Maps.

Who is behind it

City Atlas is an independent project based in Hsinchu, Taiwan, founded, built and maintained by Chia Hua Chou. It is not a government service.
